|There is sufficient research that documents the benefits of peer tutoring as a supplement to traditional instruction. Peer tutoring has been used across academic subjects, and has been found to result in improvement in academic achievement for diversity of learners within a wide range of content areas. Common components of peer tutoring programs facilitate both cognitive and social gains in both higher -performing mentors and low-performing mentees in an individualized and positive way.
Free Tutoring Available
Free tutoring is available for grades 1-12 in all subjects through the Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) program at Chico State. Tutoring will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:30 in the Bell Memorial Union Room 309 on the Chico State campus. For more information call: (530) 898-5817.
