Chico Community Scholarship Association

Chico Community Scholarship Association
Did you know 84% of all qualified applicants receive a scholarship?
Amounts range from a minimum of $500.00 to $2500.00
The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors. Applications will be available in the counseling office.

Application dates are January 8th - February 3, 2018
Submit a complete application which includes:
Two letters of recommendation (can NOT be PV teachers)
Personal Essay
Financial Information

Chico Unified Teachers Association (CUTA) - Dependents of CUTA Members

Dependents of CUTA Members.  Any graduating high school senior whose parent(s) is currently an active member of CUTA is eligible to apply for a Dependent Scholarship.  It is not necessary that the recipient be graduating from a CUSD high school.  The money for these scholarships is annually budgeted from our CUTA funds.  Two $1,250 scholarships are available and the recipients are selected by our CUTA Scholarship Committee. Completed applications for CUTA dependent scholarships must be returned to the CUTA office by 5:00 p.m. on March 9, 2018.  Applications not submitted to the CUTA office by that time and date cannot be considered for receipt of a scholarship. Tri counties Bank Scholarship Program

Tri Counties Bank is offering scholarships of up to $1500 to students attending a 4-year college and up to $1000 for those attending community college.  Awards will be made to high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement and business entrepreneurship.  Apply online at

Chico Unified Teachers Association (CUTA) - CUSD Graduating Seniors

CUSD Graduating Seniors.  These “at large” scholarships are available to any graduating senior in CUSD, including dependents of CUTA members.  Chico High and Pleasant Valley High each receive three scholarships.  Fairview receives one of these scholarships. These are each $1,000. Completed applications for the CUSD Graduating Seniors “at large” Scholarships can be returned to the school’s respective counseling office by March 9, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. Click on this link for the application: 

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits.  

Please send us a short essay (500 - 1,000 words) answering the following questions:

AES Engineers Scholarship

AES Engineers will be awarding $500 to the winner(s).  Students will submit an essay on one of the two topics that appear on the scholarship page of the web site This scholarship is NOT just for Engineering students.  DEADLINE OCT. 6, 2018

California State University, Chico provides opportunities for scholarship awards to eligible students.  New and continuing students are encouraged to apply by submitting the online Wildcat Scholarship Applications.  Scholarships are based on any or all of the following criteria:
  • Educational and career objectives
  • Scholastic achievements
  • Financial need
  • Involvement in school or community service
  • Active affiliation with clubs and organizations
  • Special qualifications (talent, obstacles overcome, relationships)
The 2018-2019 scholarship application will open January 2nd and close on February 15, 2018  

California Wine Grape Growers Foundation

In 1999, the California Wine Grape Growers Foundation was created to continue the scholarship program begun by the California association of Winegrape Growers with the purpose of providing financial assistance to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue a higher education and to honor the hard work of the men and women who help produce the highest quality winegrapes. At least two four-year scholarships worth $8,000 each and four two-year scholarships worth $2,000 each will be awarded to qualifying students in 2018. Students may study the subject of their choice at any campus within the University of California system California State University system or California Community College system. Please apply at

Abbott and Fenner

Abbott and Fenner is offering a scholarship for up to $1000.00.  Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on their scholarship page. Please visit 

PG&E Better Together STEM Scholarship

PG&E is offering a wide range of scholarships to help the next generation of Californians succeed and innovate in both STEM-based and other disciplines.  There are more than 200 scholarships available in 2018. These STEM - focused or Employee Resource Group - sponsored scholarships range from $1000 to $10,000.  
  • Be a high school senior
  • Primary residence is a PG&E customer in California at the time of application
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university in California

Italian Catholic Federation

The Italian Catholic Federation offers scholarships to Roman Catholic graduating seniors of Italian descent who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 or higher.

13th District PTA

District 13 PTA Graduating High School Senior Scholarship - This scholarship rewards high school seniors for volunteer service in the school and community.  Student must be a member of PTA/PTSA and have two letters of recommendation and an essay.  Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline is March 29, 2018.  

Burger King Scholarship

High school seniors, BURGER KING employees, their dependent children can apply to receive up to $50,000 in scholarship awards for the 2018/2019 school year.
High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale to be eligible, and must be active in their community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations.

Sons of Italy Western Foundation

The Grand Lodge of California, Order Sons of Italy in America announces the availability for scholarships for graduating seniors of the Class of 2017.
Scholarships are available in the following categories:
*  Academic Awards for high school seniors.
*  Italian Language Study Grants in Italy for high school seniors of the summer of 2018
The requirements for applying for a Scholarship or Student Grant with the Order Sons of Italy, Grand Lodge of California are as follows:
*  Applicant MUST BE wholly or partially of Italian descent
*  Applicant MUST BE enrolled in an accredited Trade School, College, University or Community College for the Fall of 2017.

B. Davis Scholarship


This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

  • There is no age restriction

  • This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.
