Foster Child Scholarship

Here is brief information for the Foster Child Scholarship:

  • This scholarship is available to incoming college students who are currently or were placed in foster care or placed into a ward, group home or private home of a state certified caregiver/foster parent.
  • Deadline for this scholarship is May 31, 2017.
  • One winner will be chosen and awarded $1,000.
  • Payment will be mailed to the college the student plans on attending.

K. Hunter Goff Bankruptcy/Consumer Rights Scholarship

Criteria: Applicant must be attending college by Fall 2017 and have at least a 3.0 GPA. They must be interested pursuing a law-related degree.

Deadline: July 31, 2017

Legal Inspiration Scholarship

The Fisher & Talwar $1,000 Legal Inspiration Scholarship is now available to students currently pursuing or plan on pursuing a college degree. 

To qualify for this scholarship:

  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be a full-time student who is currently attending (or planning to attend full-time) an accredited institution of higher education.
  3. Must provide proof of current enrollment or plans to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education. If you have not received acceptance, you may still apply, but be sure to provide proof of acceptance and enrollment for the scholarship to be released.
  4. Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

Chico Women's Club

Chico Women's Club Arts Scholarship is offering a grant in the amount of $750.00 to a young woman planning to attend Butte College.  Applications are in the Counseling Office and requires an essay of 200-300 words, which includes a personal anecdote from your life that gives us a glimpse of who you are.  Essays must be typed and attached to the application

The California Association of Collectors (CAC) is thrilled to announce a scholarship opportunity for 2017 graduating California high school seniors for their use at any accredited college, university or vocational school. The scholarship is based upon a simple one-page application and a 700-1000 word essay on "The Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Financial Credit During Your College Years".

Canyon Oaks Women's Golf Club Breast Cancer Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors residing in Butte and Glenn Counties who have lost a parent or sibling to breast cancer or who has a parent or sibling in treatment for breast cancer.

California State Retirees Chapter 14

2017 Scholarship Qualifications:
1. Be a relative of a present or retired State Employee. 2. Be a full time enrolled student; with a financial need. 3. Have an a good academic standing and provide a transcript 4. Write a one page summary of your life goals and be available to speak at a Chapter 14/Sub-Chapter meeting.

Avalos Foundation Scholarship

The Avalos Foundation Scholarship is focused on high academically achieving students who are financial challenged and planning to attend one of the Universities of California. Last year, they funded 11 local scholarships!

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Nursing Schools Almanac is offering a $1,000 award to an aspiring nurse who demonstrates:
A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare.

BCAA, the local charter of ACSA is proud to announce the availability of two student scholarships in the amount of $500 each to Butte County graduating seniors who want to pursue an educated-related career and has earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Application information is available in the counseling office.  DEADLINE IS April 17, 2017

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

  • There is no age restriction
  • Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next
  • This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.

    Please do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation at this time.
