Behavioral Expectations:       

       Come to Class Prepared! Participate and ask questions!

            Respect fellow students, the staff, and the school!

Science Classroom Rules:

1.     Follow all school rules.

-Electronics are NOT to be on or seen in the classroom-

2.     The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell.

3.     Report all ACCIDENTS to the instructor immediately (Equipment lost and broken during a lab will be paid for in full by the student(s) at the current replacement cost).

What you need to be prepared each day:

1.    A binder or folder, just for biology, with all notes, hand-outs, study guides and labs for our current unit.

2.    Notebook paper, pencil and/or a black or blue ink pen

3.    Your inquiring mind and willingness to learn.     

Course Grading:

1.     Scores are weighted: Exams 60%, Work/participation 20%, Labs/quizzes 20%

2.     The grading scale is as follows:

A         >93 %               B-        80 %                D+        67 %

A-        90 %                C+        77 %                D          63 %

B+        87 %                C          73 %                D-        60 %

B          83 %                C-         70 %                F          < 60 %

3.    Credit may not be given for late assignments due to lateness, unexcused absences or suspensions.

4.    Exams will be announced five days in advance.   Quizzes may be unannounced.

Attendance:

1.     In order to meet the goals of this class, attendance is mandatory.

2.     It is your responsibility to make up work when absent.

3.     LABS: Must be made up within one week of your return. This work will be completed outside normal class time.

Tardy Policy:

       1.   School tardy policy will be strictly enforced.

Hall Passes:

       1.    Once a semester you will be issued four hall passes, not to be used in the first 10 minutes of class. 

            2.   Hall passes are used to get drinks of water or use the restroom, going to the snack bar is not permitted.

            3.    If you do not have a hall pass you can not leave the classroom. 

            4.    Unused hall passes can be turned in for extra credit at the end of the semester.

 

Problems? Questions? Need help with anything or have a comment?  Mr. Flory is available at lunch and after school until 3:10, or make special arrangements if necessary.
