Basic Math will focus on basic skills in math concepts, calculation, and practical problem solving

Homework:
  • Expect at least 15 minutes of homework nightly.
  •  
  • No partially completed assignments accepted and lessons will need to be corrected to receive credit. Students tend to not work on the hard stuff and then never learn it. Let’s help them learn!
  •  
  • Mandatory detention on Mondays for missing/incomplete work; if student doesn’t attend, student will be assigned Closed Campus at lunch in C-1 until assignments are completed or assigned Saturday School or as negotiated with teacher.
  •  
    I am available at lunch and after school for help on a daily basis unless I have a meeting.
     
    Course Rules:
    Each student is expected to conform to the educational and behavioral standards established for all students at Pleasant Valley High School except as differentiated in the IEP.  Students should be:
     

    Prompt     Prepared     Productive     Polite

    Course Grading:
    Grades will be assigned at the end of each grading period according to the total number of points earned and weighted as below.  The grading scale will be standard: 90-100%=A, 80-89%=B. You can access your child’s grades and class assignments through Aeries. 
     
    Classwork/Homework= 50%
    Tests/Quizzes= 50%
     
    Attendance and Final Grade Determination:
    In order for a student to learn and make adequate progress toward graduation, he/she must attend classes and complete all assignments regularly. Unexcused absences, tardies, and cuts can be made up in the detention room.
