I majored in English and Spanish at CSUS. I spent a year at Middlesex (Polytechnic) University, Trent Park Campus, in England. After graduation, I taught on the JET Program for two years in Toyama, Japan. I've studied a semester each in Burgos and in Salamanca, Spain. I've studied Japanese at the University of Washington, Chico State and at Middlebury College in Vermont. I taught for two years in Redding at my alma mater, CVHS, before moving to Chico in 1997 to get my MA in Teaching International Languages and Cultures and start the Japanese Program at PVHS. I've taught Japanese, English, Spanish and The Saga at PVHS.
