College Connection

College Connection students are “concurrently” enrolled, meaning that they are still members of their high school and can participate in school athletics and activities as much as they desire. Students complete high school requirements through a combination of class time and independent studies while enrolling in Butte College classes each semester.

Educational Talent Search (ETS)
- ETS is a federally funded, national TRiO program that is committed to prepare and motivate low-income, first generation junior high and high school students for success in postsecondary education.
- ETS seeks students who have the desire, ability, and motivation to excel in their education.
- Joining ETS implies students and their parents are willing to make a commitment to their future.
Upward Bound
- Upward Bound serves:
- high school students from low-income families
- high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree
- The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
- Upward Bound services/activities include:
- Weekly academic tutoring
- Test preparation workshops
- Parent workshops in their native language
- Six week summer residential program
- Leadership development
- Laptop and equipment loan program
- Assistance with A-G college prep course selection
- Financial aid and college application assistance
- College visitation trips
- Career exploration internships
CSU Chico - High School Scholars
- The objective of the program is to offer service area students access to college courses that have not been filled by regularly enrolled CSU, Chico students.
- To find out if you are eligible to participate in this program please talk to your School Counselor.
Butte College 2+2
Butte College has identified certain high school classes that are judged to be equivalent in scope, content and skill level to selected Butte College courses. If you complete any of these courses while in high school, you can earn college credits. See your School Counselor to enroll in this program.
