FAFSA

 
Students who are interested in receiving federal and state financial aid for college should apply for FAFSA. The application is free and should only take about 20 minutes to complete. The counseling office encourages all of our seniors to apply for FAFSA.
  • The application opens on October 1st
  • The deadline to apply is March 2nd
  
 
  1. Create your account -  In order to create your FSA ID. You will need an account for the Student and the Parent/Guardian. You can find the form by Clicking Here

  2. Now that you have created your FSA ID you can start working on the FAFSA form: Click Here
 

Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are available throughout the senior year but get busier in the spring semester. Students may access scholarships through the university scholarship page, corporations, and through local organizations.
 

Scholarship Bulletin

  • The Pleasant Valley High School Counseling office creates a Scholarship Bulletin monthly beginning in October.In this bulletin you will find a list of all the reputable scholarships we learn about. You can browse the list of scholarships to find the right one for you! 
 
Chico Scholarships

Chico Community Scholarship Association (CCSA)

  • The Chico Community Scholarship Association is a local organization that provides many scholarships yearly to local and graduating students. The application should be dropped off no later than 3:00 on February 2nd which is the deadline.   
Wildcat Scholarship

Wildcat Scholarship

  • This scholarship is specifically for students who are planning to attend Cal State, Chico. The application opens on January 2nd and closes on Feb 15th. Click on the link to find the online application and learn more about who may qualify.

Afford UC
  • If your family makes less than $80,000 and you qualify for finanacial aid you might qualify to have all tuition and fees waived by any University of California school.
