Reta Rickmers

I have pursued art as a personal interest for as long as I can remember.   I have an art studio at home and show my paintings and drawings locally.  After graduating from Chico State, I taught out of the area for two years.  I have taught at PV for many years and I've been Department Chair since 2004.  One of my goals as an art teacher is to help students find a positive creative outlet through the visual arts.  I am amazed constantly by the art created by teen-agers and I am proud that many of my former students have gone on to pursue careers in the arts.  A few years ago I received an Exemplary Program Award from the California Art Educators Association.
